Capturing Time: A Beautiful Family Tradition with Allison Liffman Photography

As a Cleveland family photographer, there are few things more rewarding than being invited back year after year to document a family’s journey. At Allison Liffman Photography, it’s not just about snapping pictures—it’s about telling stories. And some of our favorite stories are the ones we get to continue, season after season, as families grow and change.

One such story is that of a beautiful family we’ve had the honor of photographing for several years now. What began as a sweet session with two young parents and their wide-eyed toddlers has blossomed into a yearly tradition full of laughter, hugs, and a whole lot of heart.

Each session feels like a reunion. The kids who once needed to be coaxed into a smile now run up excitedly, remembering the games we played last time. We’ve watched them lose baby teeth, gain a little height, and develop their own unique personalities. Mom and Dad have stayed just as kind and full of love, and each year they bring a new chapter of their lives to the lens—whether it’s a milestone, a new haircut, or just the joy of another year together.

Photographing the same family year after year is like pressing pause on time. It allows us to create a visual legacy—a collection of memories that show not just how they’ve grown, but how they’ve grown together. It’s the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do.
