Baby Photography
Be Prepared - Newborn sessions take place in your home. This is an incredibly special time in your life and I want to showcase not only your gorgeous family, but the environment that makes your home your special place. We will find different spots throughout your home for us to spend our time. Often we will take photos in the nursery, in the master bedroom, and in the living room. Of course, if there is somewhere else in your home that has great light and feels special to you we can explore. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and at ease. Having photos taken so quickly after baby is born can feel overwhelming. Hopefully having the photos taken at home can give you a little less to stress about. There is no need to rush off to a studio, or feel like you need to pack lots of extra clothes in case of an accident. Everything you need will be right at your finger tips. Feeding your baby before a session is key. Making sure baby is fed leads to a happier photo session allowing us to capture those beautiful moments. Please be prepared for baby mishaps and do not be stressed if baby has a few tears or fussy moments. Sometimes babies just need a few minutes to themselves for a feed or a diaper change.
What Should YOU Wear - As with most family photos, try and keep it simple. If mom decided to wear a red sweater, dad should not be wearing something bright as well. Keep patterns and details subtle. A neutral color palette will allow mom and dad to easily adapt to whatever set up we have for the baby pictures.
Patience and Understanding - It is important to be patient during a photoshoot. Not all babies can be “camera ready” just because you want them to. Usually a photo shoot takes no longer than 60-90 minutes. However, some babies just may not feel the love in front of a camera. Some babies may not be as comfortable in front of the camera by themselves. So be prepared to take a few photos with your baby as well. Sometimes just being in the arms of mom or dad for a few minutes can sooth a baby into the best model.
Safety - Allison Liffman is hospital trained in newborn safety to create a safe environment for your baby.
Family Photography
What to Expect - I always try to capture real moments and times in your lives together. While some photos may be more staged with specific positions and placement, other photos will be taken candid as your family enjoys their time together. After booking, we will decide on a location for the shoot. There are beautiful locations all over the Cleveland area and we are always open to new ideas and places. Outdoor sessions take place at or around sunset.
What to Wear - Simple and neutral is always a good idea. Flowing fabrics and breathable material is great. We want movement in your clothes. I recommend that you not wear anything with graphic prints or logos. Try and keep it simple, we want these photos to stay classic and timeless so you can enjoy them for years to come. The style guide at the top of the page is extremely helpful when selecting wardrobe.
Working with the Kids - Always pack a little snack for your little ones, and think about scheduling naps while coordinating a time for your photoshoot. Outdoor sessions take place at or around sunset, so please make sure kiddos eat before our photos. A hangry kid wont want to show us that gorgeous smile.
First Birthday / Cake Smash
What to Expect - This session will be an hour of fun and play time! The session starts with your beautiful baby sitting with a cake and is encouraged to dive right in. I try and keep cake smash sessions as simple as possible, without a bunch of decorations distracting from your little cutie. However, balloons and accessory details can also be included if requested. You will be asked to provide your own circular cake. After our session we can take a sink bath! I don't know what it is about a baby in a sink, but its just the cutest! We can splash and play and get some very sweet pictures.
Location - This session is done at the clients home. Babies can get pretty messy while tasting the cake, so being at home for a bath after is a good idea.
Business Photography
What to Expect - There is no right or wrong when it comes to business photography. Often businesses simply want to photograph their products, while other businesses would prefer to photograph the location of the business, or the employees. Employees can be photographed on site working in their environment, or head shots with backdrops can be provided. The entire shoot all depends on what the business is looking to use their photos for. Some are looking to have images to use on their personal websites or to use advertising their companies, and others are looking just to have stock images for whatever marketing they may need in the future. When calling to schedule your business photography photoshoot, I will ask a little about the company and what you are looking for specifically to make sure you get what you need.
Additional Info - A business photoshoot can take longer then your average family or portrait photoshoot. If you would like to have the location, employees, and products all photographed this can take a few extra hours on site and extra hours editing.
Package Details
Editing - After a photo session takes place, I spend time perfecting, cropping, enhancing colors and retouching any imperfections. Do not be stressed about that pimple that just showed up this morning, or that black and blue mark on your leg. Post production and editing will take care of all of that. Editing takes approximately 7 to 10 days. At this point your photos will be uploaded for your viewing and downloading.
